A long time devotee of in-home workout videos (tae bo, anyone?), exercise has been an important part of Kristin’s life from a young age. Some of her favorite memories include working out with her sister to Richard Simmons and Billy Blanks tapes in their childhood basement. She’s since graduated to more challenging workouts over time, but the love of exercise in any form has been there from the start! A true extrovert, Kristin loves the energy, motivation and support that group classes provide, and that is especially true at RISE.
Kristin attended Boston College and it was during her college years that she discovered a passion for running. After graduating from BC with a degree in English and History, Kristin moved to Los Angeles, and worked for a number of years as a personal assistant in the entertainment industry. It was often a highly stressful job and Kristin continued to run as a daily stress reliever and energy booster. It was in LA where she also discovered a love of yoga, which she still practices today and considers an awesome complement to barre.
Upon moving back to the Philly area, Kristin went to business school and received her MBA in finance and marketing. She continued running, a passion shared with her husband Chris with whom she trained and ran a number of races over the years. After persistent knee issues and surgery ultimately put an end to her running career, a friend suggested Kristin try barre. One class proved that barre could provide the same personal challenge, both mentally and physically, as running had. She’s been hooked ever since.
Kristin has been practicing barre for over four years now and has done so through two pregnancies. Following her youngest son’s birth in the Fall of 2018, Kristin attributes her relatively easy post partum recovery to barre. She loves being an instructor and inspiring others to dig deep and enjoy the challenge and benefits that barre offers. Recognizing that every day is different, Kristin encourages her clients (and herself!) to bring their best selves to each class and to enjoy the sense of individual accomplishment that comes after each workout.
Outside of RISE, Kristin heads up the Corporate Marketing & Communications department at a private equity firm on the main line, where she’s worked for more than 10 years. She lives in Blue Bell with her husband and three kids.
